About this role
SSA Group is hiring a Retail Operations Manager at San Francisco Zoo and Gardens in San Francisco, CA. This is a full time, onsite role, and you need 3 to 5 years of retail operations management experience. You will run the zoo's retail shops, from staffing to sales tracking.
Who You Are:
You are a natural leader who keeps your team, GM, buyer, and headquarters on the same page.
You are a sharp problem solver who stays organized when the day gets unpredictable.
You bring the physical ability to move boxes weighing 10 to 35 pounds, stand for long stretches, and work nights, weekends, and holidays.
You bring basic computer skills for office tasks, and you are 18 or older with any educational background.

SSA Group runs dining, retail, and admissions for zoos, aquariums, museums, and other cultural attractions nationwide, with 50 years in the business.
This role sits inside San Francisco Zoo and Gardens, home to more than 1,500 exotic, endangered, and rescued animals across 100 acres on the Pacific Coast, open 365 days a year.
SSA Group builds sustainability and inclusivity into how it runs each partner's operation.
What You Will Do Each Day:
Recruit, hire, train, and coach your retail team, and set schedules for every shift.
Oversee displays, restocking, and cleanliness across all shops and carts.
Manage POS systems, cash handling, and vendor invoices.
Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales to plan promotions and inventory.
