The opportunity
About this role
We are hiring our first remote General Counsel. You need a J.D., an active law license in at least one state, and seven or more years of legal experience in mergers and acquisitions or private equity. You will run point on every acquisition for our portfolio of plumbing, drain, and electrical service companies.

You can walk into an unclear situation and hand the team a clear path forward.
You take ownership of your work and want to build something new.
You bring strong experience in mergers and acquisitions or private equity, a track record negotiating transaction documents, and the judgment to know when a matter needs outside counsel.
You bring strong communication skills, a practical approach to solving problems, and comfort working directly with senior executives, investors, owners, and operators.

We back the owners and teams running these businesses with capital and support.

What You Will Do Each Day:
Lead legal due diligence on acquisitions from first look through closing.
Negotiate letters of intent, purchase agreements, and employment agreements.
Advise the Managing Partner and investment team on legal risk and deal issues.
Draft commercial agreements and build the legal function as the portfolio grows.
