The opportunity
About this role
SELA Renovations is looking for a construction-minded operator who can take ownership of active renovation projects and help us build the operating backbone of a growing company.
This is not a clipboard-only project management role. We need someone who can earn trust in the field, communicate clearly with clients, hold subcontractors accountable, protect schedule and margin, and bring order to the daily moving parts of residential renovation work. The right person will help move SELA from founder-led project management to a repeatable, scalable production system.
What You'll Own
You'll keep renovation projects moving from contract to completion:
Building and maintaining project schedules
Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, materials, inspections, and punch lists
Communicating proactively with clients
Tracking job progress, budget status, change orders, and risks
Visiting job sites and solving problems before they become expensive
Documenting and approving scope changes
Helping build the SELA process for how projects are run
Giving leadership a clear weekly view of every active job
Your job is to make sure nothing depends on memory, hope, or last-minute scrambling.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a project manager, assistant PM, superintendent, lead carpenter, production coordinator, or a strong field operator ready for a larger role. The best fit:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
Proven experience managing project scope and budgets for construction projects.
Demonstrated experience building, implementing, or improving operational systems and processes within a construction company.
Has real residential construction or renovation experience
Understands how job sites actually work
Communicates well with both clients and subcontractors
Is organized without needing a big-company support system
Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
Understands schedule, budget, change orders, quality, and client experience
Stays calm when projects get messy
Wants to grow with a company, not just fill a job
We care less about your exact title history and more about whether you can own outcomes.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Every active project has a clear schedule, next step, owner, and risk list
Clients receive consistent updates
Subcontractors know what is expected and when
Change orders are documented before extra work proceeds
Project issues are surfaced early
Leadership has a weekly dashboard of jobs, budget, schedule, and blockers
The owner is no longer the daily bottleneck for project execution
What This Role Can Become
This is a growth role. For the right person, it can grow into leading production and operations for SELA Renovations as the company expands. We want someone who wants to help build the machine, not just work inside one.
Requirements
Construction, renovation, remodeling, or residential project experience
Ability to manage multiple active projects at once
Strong communication and follow-through
Comfortable using basic project management tools, schedules, photos, notes, and job tracking systems
Reliable transportation and ability to visit job sites across Southeast Louisiana
High standards for quality, accountability, and client experience
Preferred
Experience managing subcontractors
Experience with budgeting, job costing, or change orders
Experience in residential renovation, insurance restoration, remodeling, or custom residential work
Familiarity with project management software or construction CRM tools
Compensation
Based on experience and ability. We're open to structuring the role for the right person, including performance-based upside tied to project execution, margin protection, and company growth.
