Position Overview
Window Fellas is a high-end installation company that specializes in premium window, door, and glass installations where craftsmanship, precision, and clean finishes are non-negotiable. We are not looking for entry-level installers—we are looking for true craftsmen who take pride in doing the job right the first time.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Window & Door Installer who can independently execute high-quality window, door, and skywall/window wall installations and effectively lead a crew. The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsman with strong finish carpentry experience. Siding and residential remodeling is a big plus. You should have at least 5 years of installation experience and 1–2 years leading a crew or working as a foreman. Strong carpentry skills are important.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right the first time, can solve problems in the field, and can maintain a high standard of quality while leading others.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and perform window, door and skywall/window wall installations
Install retrofit and full-frame windows, sliding and stacking doors, skylights, skywalls, custom entry doors, and other specialty products
Perform finish carpentry to a high standard, including interior and exterior trim, casing, liners, sills, returns, and other finish work
Make framing changes as needed, including rough openings, headers, and other structural adjustments
Install flashing, sealants, insulation, and waterproofing correctly
Take accurate measurements and make necessary field adjustments
Identify problems or unexpected conditions at the job and find the right solution
Lead and direct the crew to keep the job moving and the work on schedule
Train and help develop less-experienced installers
Communicate with supervisors about job progress, materials, site conditions, and any problems that need attention
Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe
Protect the customer’s home, belongings, and property
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
Complete accurate and consistent field reports
Submit daily job logs
Complete daily safety walkthroughs
Take before-and-after photos for daily reporting and final job documentation using mobile and web-based apps for timekeeping, reporting, photos, and other job information
Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and glass-handling equipment
Keep the company work vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked
Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of hands-on residential installation experience
1–2 years of experience as a Lead Installer, Foreman, Crew Lead, or similar
Strong background in residential window and door installation, including retrofit and full-frame applications with additional consideration given to those with additional exterior envelope work including siding and roofing
Proven finish carpentry skills with high-quality interior and exterior trim work
Strong understanding of residential construction and framing
Knowledge of flashing, sealing, waterproofing, and insulation practices
Ability to identify installation and structural issues and make sound field decisions
Proficient with measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and glass equipment
Ability to lead a crew while maintaining quality and productivity
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
Physically capable of lifting 75+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and insurability required
Reliable transportation
Basic hand tools required
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and respect for customer property
Preferred Qualifications
Exterior carpentry experience
Residential remodeling experience beyond windows and doors
Residential siding installation experience
Background in high-end finish carpentry or custom residential construction
Experience with premium brands such as Milgard, Marvin, Andersen, or similar
Experience with large-format units, stacking systems, skylights, and custom openings
Ability to perform minor drywall patching and finish touch-ups
Experience working in occupied homes with a focus on cleanliness and professionalism
Track record of minimal callbacks and consistently high-quality results
