The opportunity
About this role
A&K Painting is hiring a full-time Safety Inspector in Charlotte, NC. You need previous construction experience and an OSHA 30 Construction certification, or the willingness to earn one. You will spend your days walking active jobsites, catching hazards before they turn into injuries.
Who You Are:
You are the person who notices the unsecured ladder everyone else walked past.
You take pride in keeping crews safe without becoming the person nobody wants to see pull up.
You are a clear communicator who can raise a concern with a foreman or a project manager and be heard by both.
You bring a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record.
You bring CPR and First Aid certification, plus OSHA 10 Construction certification or the willingness to earn it after hire.
You bring the strength to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, and reach, and stay on your feet in heat, cold, rain, and dust while wearing full PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility vest, gloves, and boots.
Who We Are:
We are a commercial and industrial painting company based in Charlotte.
We are built on craftsmanship and accountability.
We grow by doing the work right the first time.
Andy Robbins started this company with $500 in the bank, following his dad into the trade.
What You Will Do Each Day:
Inspect active jobsites and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and hazards.
Verify crews are using required personal protective equipment.
Document findings with photos and company forms, then track corrective actions until they are closed out.
Help run weekly toolbox talks and new hire safety orientations.
Investigate incidents and near misses, and maintain OSHA logs and inspection records.
Travel between jobsites throughout the workday.
Why You'll Love Working Here:
This is a full-time, onsite Safety Inspector role, out in the field rather than behind a desk.
You work for a company that measures itself on doing the work right the first time.
Every corrective action you close is a hazard that never becomes an injury.
Next Steps:
Fill out the application form and we will be in touch about next steps.
